Time and all of its Faces

I am young but my eyes are old. It seems time has left me now. I don't remember any of you like I thought I would. Sometimes it is as if people are main characters in a book I once read, antagonists or protagonists, my memory of you all is so distinct and incredibly unsettling. If you are human, this means you usually only tell people what you want them to know, we omit what we fear the world will judge us for. We lack the patience for truth. But the truth is always hidden in places you think most won't go to; the truth is in the pupil of the eye. Most people didn't have the time to be who they wanted to be so they embellished the truth. We have the time. These are the ways of the world; the gifts of the gabbers. We tell our life stories to people as if those stories could ever mean as much to anyone as they do to us. We are fortunate for our mouths; for our eyes and ears.

I don't have one up on anyone. I don't know you. You don't know me. Do any of us really know? I only know that we're human with stories and wounds that will bleed forever. Find the parts of you that you need, hold them close and save them from a wicked world. No matter how wicked it seems, remember your world can still be beautiful. Find a way to step into this world without getting stuck in between. The danger of having one foot in and one foot out is much too great. Not everything is a tragedy, in fact, most tragedies are new beginnings. Teach your eyes to see not only what they want to see but what is really there. I challenge you to see through all of the rotten cliches, to not falter for anyone or be made a fool of. There is not a soul that can harm you without your consent. I encourage you to laugh at how funny the world is--everyone has two faces, one for their good days and another for the bad. The only faces you have to remember are the face's of those you want to.
